Take a broad rubber band and measure its unstretched length.
Suspend the band from a retort stand, place a weight hanger on its lower end and
add increasing weights to the hanger. (Slotted 0.5 kg masses will probably be
the most suitable.)
Record the total extension after each increment of weight
and continue until the length of the band is about 5 or 6 times its original
length. Now remove the load and once again measure the length of the band.
