Research Proposal and Annotated Bibliography

In a paragraph, describe the question you will ask of your chosen text, which must be a novel that we are not reading in class published in Great Britain or the United States between 1800 and 1900. How will you pursue this line of inquiry? If you have a thesis statement in mind already, identify it.

List at least 5 secondary sources that pertain to your research topic. The sources must be peer-reviewed and scholarly (websites and blogs do not count!). Use the MLA International Bibliography or JSTOR to find sources (links on Canvas). Produce a separate entry for each (see below for a sample entry). List the entries in alphabetical order.

Cite your sources using MLA format. Use Times New Roman 12-point font and double spacing. Italicize book and journal titles. Put article titles in quotation marks. You will lose points for failing to format citations correctly.
