Reading responses can include your impressions about the reading, critical responses, questions that the reading raises in your mind, as well as your own attempt to answer the questions, points you would like clarified, new ideas you learned, or connections to other readings of the week or semester. In other words: analyze the reading. Please note that this requires summarizing, in at least 4-5 sentences and in your own words and with the use of central quotes, the main idea or argument that you will discuss. For each response paper, we encourage you to focus on developing one or two main points in depth, rather than merely listing unconnected points.
