NYC 311 Program Paper

New York city implemented a 311 Program in March 2003.  One of the many goals of this program was to reduce the number of non emergency calls to the overloaded 911 system.  The mission statement of the 311 program is “311’s mission is to provide the public with quick, easy access to all New York City government services and information while maintaining the highest possible level of customer service. 311 allows other government bodies to focus on their core missions and manage their workload efficiently.”
 Students will submit a short paper on the impact of the New York City 311 Program on the Criminal Justice Agencies in New York City. The paper will include the development, implantation and the students evaluation of the 311 system.
