Most stereotyping I see involves mainly the gay community because I volunteer alot and I speak for many groups in the LGBTQ+ community. There are alot of people who believe that if their kids are surrounded by gay books, movies, etc that their kids will ‘turn’ gay. But I see all too often kids nad adults who are scared of their sexuality because they were taugh growing up that you “had to turn gay” which is completely ridiculous. People are also taught that they HAVE to be straight and it’s the only way of life, but then they are teaching their kids to hold hate for themselves and others. I believe that the only solution to this is for people who disagree with freedom for sexuality to meet and listen to the testimonies of people who have been physically and mentally harmed for something they have tried to and cannot change. Maybe then others will see the fear, pain, and sadness that others have gone through trying to be accepted by peers and family.
