Do Students Prefer Synchronous or Asynchronous Classes? (Excerpt) PDS is Princeton Day School (K-12)

This semester, all ESL classes have been taught through Zoom, and they are synchronous classes (taught at the times/days listed in the schedule). 
 
At San Jose City College, we also have online asynchronous classes (no specific days/times for meetings/Canvas only), and we offer a small number of face to face classes (health requirements permitting). 

• For Spring 2022, in your opinion, which is the best format/modality for ESL students at community colleges to learn English as a Second Language (ESL)?  
 
Argue your point with specific reasons, examples, and other forms of support. Please use the article provided at least one time as a source within your paper (make sure to cite it within your essay using MLA). There is no need to have a Works Cited page. Also, don’t forget to include at least one counterargument and refutation. When you have finished the final essay, please upload it to Canvas.
 
Remember, you will be in a breakout room during the entire test. You must share your screen at all times. You can only use the article, a spelling/grammar check, and an online or paper dictionary. No translation devices or other software can be used. No other assistance can be given during the exam. Thank you.
