Discuss when and how did the issue begin to become an issue.

Your final paper is an analysis of a social justice issue of your choosing, including historical context, past attempts at change, and opportunities for future change. This paper should be a total of 10 to 12 pages of content, but not including resources/citations and title page. Three of the four assignments that comprise your final grade are based on the content of this paper (oral presentation, social media campaign, infographic). To ensure you are on the right track with your topic and theoretical framing of the issue, an annotated outline and first draft will be submitted over the course of the semester. The social justice paper should include the following components: Introduction of problem, including a problem statement Historical context including relevant systemic/structural entities (i.e., what structural deficit has been holding this in place?); make sure to clearly define this as a social justice issue Review of relevant literature Attempts to address the issue and efficacy of these attempts Your proposed solution (address also whether your proposed solution is innovative [i.e., is original] or involves a partnership w/ existing organizations and why?)
